Immigrant-Led Organizations Fund
We help fund and strengthen emerging and established immigrant-led, community-based organizations across Maine.
Maine Asylum Seeker Crisis Support
We are deeply grateful to all those who contributed and helped us spread the word about Maine Asylum Seeker Crisis Support. We raised over $300,000 from hundreds of donors which goes directly to 16 Immigrant-Led organizations working with asylees making a new life in Maine.
Purpose
The Immigrant-Led Organizations (ILO) Fund was established in 2017 with the support of the Broad Reach Fund to support immigrant-led and immigrant-serving organizations in Maine. The Fund currently operates as a pooled fund of the Immigrant & Refugee Funders Collaborative, providing general operating support to organizations led by and serving Maine’s immigrants, refugees, asylees, migrant farm workers and those who are undocumented.
The Immigrant and Refugee Funders Collaborative
The Immigrant & Refugee Funders Collaborative comprises 14 foundations committed to supporting immigrants and refugees in Maine. Members include the Betterment Fund, the Bingham Program, the Clowes Fund, Elmina B. Sewall Foundation, Good Shepherd Food Bank, John T. Gorman Foundation, Maine Community Foundation, Maine Democracy Collaborative, Maine Health Access Foundation, Maine Initiatives, Maine Philanthropy Center, Rocking Moon Foundation, Sam L. Cohen Foundation, and the United Way of Southern Maine.
How to Apply
In Spring and Summer of 2023, the Immigrant-Led Organizations Fund will be making rapid response grants to organizations directly leading the Asylum Seeker response in Maine.
Stay tuned for the ILO Fund’s new multi-year grant opportunity in the Fall of 2023.
