$270,000 to Immigrant-Led Organizations in Maine

Announcing the The Immigrant-Led Organizations Fund’s Newest Grantees!

Dear Friends:

If there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that getting money directly into the hands of those most impacted by this pandemic isn’t just good, it’s necessary.

That’s why we’re making $270,000 in grants to support 32 immigrant-led and immigrant-serving organizations on the frontlines of the community response to COVID-19.

These grants are made from the Immigrant-Led Organizations Fund, a pooled fund of the Immigrant and Refugee Funders Collaborative consisting of 13 foundations committed to supporting immigrant-led organizations here in Maine. We are proud to honor and support these organizations, recognizing the extraordinary lengths they’ve gone to adapt and respond to the needs of their constituents, often without knowing where the funds to back such efforts will come from.

Since March, we have contributed $520,000 in emergency funding to immigrant-led organizations because we know it is philanthropy’s responsibility to step up and direct resources to the organizations doing this work.

These grants will sustain these groups in the days and weeks to come. I am pleased to share these remarkable organizations and I invite you to join us in supporting them.

In strength and solidarity,

Shima Kabirigi
