Kate Brennan is the Organizer/Outreach Coordinator at Maine Equal Justice Partners (MEJP). She has worked as a community organizer and educator with both small community organizations and statewide progressive campaigns for economic and racial justice in Maine over the past 15 years. As an organizer with Maine People's Alliance, she worked on issues of displacement and housing justice, immigrant rights, and worker justice. Before joining MEJP, Kate worked at Lewiston Adult Education Learning Center with recent immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers through a participatory English language learning curriculum that identified core issues and community problems, built collective analysis, and developed strategies for change while learning English for action. Kate is a new Maine Initiatives board member, serves on the newly formed City of Lewiston Immigrant and Refugee Integration and Policy Development Working Group and is a member of Central Maine Showing up for Racial Justice. She lives in Greene with her partner Matt and their two kids Colin and Avery.
